This was a fun one to solve. We were asked to come up with a book that could serve many purposes. Mainly, it would serve as a reference point for farmers (“Partner Growers”) to consult. Since ColorPoint provides the Lowe’s, Walmart and Home Depots of the world with flowers, their farmers have very specific guides on when and how to ship their plants.

My favorite aspect of this project is appropriately design-nerdy. Some aspects of the ColorPoint-to-Farmer relationship were universal and made up the copy in the book; some were not and needed to be individualized documents. They asked if we could include a pocket, something I’ve not gotten the chance to do on a book before or since, and I had the clever idea to make the curvature of the pocket the exact same as the “petals” in their logo. I doubt anyone noticed, but I notice. That makes me happy.
